I haven't seen the movie (I've heard bad things) but this is a great picture, I LOVE the way you made the character look!

Furboz responds:

The only true judgement about the movie is yours... If you see it now or later it's up to you...

Just one advice... go without any prejudices

I really enjoyed the movie because I scrapped all the drama around it...

You've probably answered this sometime before, but is Cecil an OC?

ZedrinBot responds:

Yep, she's the first DND char I ever made, for a campy, goofy 3.5 session.

Very nice! I like the style a lot.
(What's she looking at? Jk, I don't really care)
I like the amount of shading, there isn't too much of it .

Gloomlie responds:

Thank you! I too enjoy shading that isn't complicated haha

Hey! That's Hubert Cumberdale! I am triggered! (Jk, nice work, I don't even know if that's Hubert Cumberdale or not to be honest.)

Rhunyc responds:

It totally is Hubert Cumberdale (the real boy) :D

Her design is so deliberate, it's just so good! It's easy enough (for you, I couldn't do this in 999,999 years) to draw it 100 times in a comic book but not so simple that it takes away from the character itself. It's just great!
Just wondering, about how long did it take you to design her?

ZedrinBot responds:

Her original design I spent like a week with. The geometric style of her clothing is something that was present from day 1. (originally i was debating more mechanical hair, like a booster hairpiece or a big drill.)

That all said she's had small tweaks and updates to her design over the years--this is version 3. Her head got a little more anime-shaped and the style for her body is a bit more streamlined now. Small changes, but still changed nonetheless.

FBI open up!
Very nice art, very smooth, great shading, there's not any bad to say about this!

TheAstra responds:

Thanks =D
Now I have to practice my composition and the expressiveness of my art!
Also color and anatomy... and maybe some values too... haha

NICE! I love pixel art, I've *tried* to make some good stuff in the past.

gatekid3 responds:

you can try to make some good stuff in the present too. Never too late to keep art-ing.

That is AMAZING! When I first looked at it, I honestly thought it was a photograph, then I looked closer and saw that it was some very great art! Not that photography isn't art. Nice work!

exzez responds:

Thank you infernaperox77 - even Carrie Henn (the actress who played Newt) liked it a lot - hard work pays off i guess. =) Cheers

I don't know how you do it, but that line-work is phenomenal!
What? You expected me to notice something else?
Ohhh, THE SHADING of course, that shading is absolutely INSANE!
Am I missing the point?
Just kidding, although the line-work and shading is super good, Man I wish I could draw like that. Or is it the software? '\_(0_0)_/'

ZedrinBot responds:

I use Clip Studio Paint, but the key to good line work is confidence. Confident, often faster, bigger strokes are more consistent.
To help I also use CSP's vector layers for my lineart, which makes it easier to make adjustments to the shape and thickness after making lines.

It's good art (I guess) but what's up with the whole... "Snakey" thing? I mean, it's a cool thing to think about, you know, mixing a human with a snake but it's weird. I dunno that's just MY opinion.

ZedrinBot responds:

Generally reviews / critique are better when you assess the merits and issues of the work, not so much whether or not it appeals to your personal preferences.

Lamia and naga are monsters from various mythologies, much like mermaids, harpies, werewolves, etc. They've seen a resurgence in modern media thanks to appearing in various games and anime, from XCom to Shantae to Monster Musume.
